A light and scenic mountain escape into the dramatic Dariali Gorge, often called one of the natural gates of the Caucasus. After a short drive from Kazbegi, the route continues on foot toward Gveleti Waterfall, hidden between rocky cliffs and mountain greenery.
Sightseeing highlights: Dariali Gorge viewpoints, mountain cliffs, Gveleti Waterfall, photo stops, borderland Caucasus scenery. Gveleti is around 7 km from Stepantsminda, with a short pedestrian trail leading to the waterfall.

Routes continuing toward the glacier area are usually full-day hikes, and reaching high points around this zone requires good fitness and early departure.
Note: This tour is weather-dependent and recommended for guests with good physical condition. From mid-November to mid-June, Altihut notes that snow-season equipment such as touring skis or snowshoes may be required depending on conditions.
